A focused first step before a broader review

The goal is not to turn every question into a large project. It's to understand the issue, review the smallest useful set of information, and recommend the next reasonable step.

How Redline engages

INTAKE DISCUSSION

A short conversation to understand the issue, the vendor, the contract area, and any timing concerns. This is not a review — it's a focused conversation to identify what information would be needed for a meaningful next step.

  • No charge for the intake call
  • Typically 30 minutes or less
  • No extensive documentation required at this stage
  • Redline determines whether a Preliminary Review appears appropriate

PRELIMINARY ISSUE REVIEW

A paid, limited review of available documents and facts. The purpose is to determine whether the issue appears explainable based on available information, or whether additional clarification would be helpful. This step does not provide legal, audit, or compliance opinions. For smaller fixed-fee reviews, payment is generally required upfront.

  • Fixed fee — determined before work begins
  • Limited document scope — only what the question requires
  • Written summary of observations and questions raised
  • No formal audit opinion or legal conclusion

TARGETED NEXT STEPS

After the Preliminary Review, Redline outlines practical next steps based on what was reviewed — which may include no further action, additional document requests, targeted vendor questions, or referral to legal, audit, or other professionals where appropriate.

  • No further work appears warranted based on information reviewed
  • Additional documents or clarification would be needed
  • Targeted vendor questions should be prepared
  • A deeper review scope may be appropriate
  • The issue may require legal, audit, or other professional support outside Redline's role

Three principles that guide every engagement

START WITH THE CONTRACT

HONEST NEXT STEP RECOMMENDATIONS

USE THE MINIMUM NECESSARY

Every issue is a contract question first. Before looking at data or invoices, the review starts with what the agreement actually says — and whether the situation is consistent with those terms.

HONEST NEXT STEP RECOMMENDATIONS

USE THE MINIMUM NECESSARY

The goal is to understand the issue with the smallest reasonable set of documents. Asking for everything creates noise. Asking for the right things creates clarity.

HONEST NEXT STEP RECOMMENDATIONS

Sometimes the right answer is no further action. Sometimes it's a vendor question. Sometimes it's a referral out. Redline recommends the path that fits — not the one that extends the engagement.
